Endless Love
[Verse]
She gets so lonely at night, her lover is far away
She wants to hold him but their contact falls away
I’m busy, I’m busy, really their schedules don’t align
She’s feeling so empty wondering if they’ll grow in time
But in the meantime, she has her own work
Workouts, homework, forgets that she’s alone worse
Finds more company in ones that she was farther from
Striving for their love enjoying interactions all of ‘em
Hard to run, from the new group of friends
And she enjoys it, great women and super men
A new beginning to her life it would seem
But still her lover’s on the phone, knowing it’s a good thing
It sits, and could ring, but not with proper frequency
And she believes that he’s been heaving working for his three degrees
Thinking geez, hope that he stops and enjoys the scenery
And one of the friends sees it he’s been eating with her frequently
It started with a smile then they’re studying and reasonably
He’s really sweet and she’s been treating him more than a piece of meat
And vis-a-vis they’re working chilling talking she can see something
Like he’s wondering what we can be if she was single easily
He thinks they’d be together feasibly, he thinks that she’d agree
And on a Wednesday, it’s sunny and it’s breezy bees
Flying it’s a decent spring, day that’s when they meet to eat
They greet and take a seat she orders greens he gets a pizza she
Asks how he’s doing how’s your love life, he decrees
Working on it asks her what’s she’s doing in the weekend
Wonders can we cook a bit it looked a bit like she’d been
Really undersleeping she stumbled and mumbled we can
Hang out for part of the time, her boyfriend was harder to find
But he’d be coming down to visit
She thinks about the three of them together and she pivots
Like part of it is hard to fit I might just have to miss it
He looks sad, then angry and disappointed
Like isn’t this the point that we really get enjoyment
If he comes you’ll probably argue we can dance and then eat
Part time isn’t enough ‘cause there’s no chance that we can be
If you’re romantically leading me where it isn’t complete
And while he didn’t skip a beat he laid it out her misery was flaming now
She missed her mister right her vision slighted tried to run
In spite and from a night of rum she cried and crumbled writhing from
What she had done, knew that her feelings were not prevented
The realest of comprehensions she’s reeling and wrought with tension
It’s cheating right? When I mention my feelings fight the depression
He helped me by being friendly but tired of it she’s climbing up
The top of the dormitory, and hoping to purge the gory
Vision maybe god will listen maybe make it purgatory
Jumped and then was soaring shortly after it was gravity
A "thump" then she heard a snoring, she was sleeping actually
And that’s when she had sat up breathing harder feeling paralyzed
Fear designs the paradigm, there she lies, terrified
Knowing that she loves her man, likes her friend but there’s a time
To bear in mind that friendship is immense but still severely blind
In scary times she nearly died her head is twenty Fahrenheit
It’s cold; she knows though here it’s fine; the parasitic mare in night
Was steering wildly, dumb talking, wishes she were unconscious
Cursing her subconscious ‘cause denial is survival
Calls him like, come to my room, we need to talk
I don’t know what you think this is or even thought
And I’ll admit, I’ve given in to the temptations
All of my flirtations had me thinking then pacing
Because if smiles are rifles then you’re the second amendment
Showing kindness being vital in my life that has been split
But inside, I know I have to make a choice, I was
Then crying, remember his laugh and face and voice
So I’m sad to say it really, ‘cause we could’ve been great
But I wouldn’t throw away something I worked so hard for
I hope that we can be cool, I see you, as a
Really great friend, and I hope you think that thing too
He stares blankly asking like: me? You?
I got a girlfriend I can’t imagine seeing you...
