Is It Safe To Repeatedly Unplug Your Router?
*Sorry for my bad English. It's not my first language*
This question gets asked to me more frequently than you would think. People are always suggesting this in the comments.
The simple answer....no.
It's basically the same reason why you wouldn't want to unplug a refrigerator or microwave all the time. The outlet and cord are damaged whenever it is unplugged. But don't worry about the next time you unplug an electronic device, it's only damaged slightly. Due to the damages done by repeated unplugging, the flow of electric energy has trouble travelling through the cord. Eventually, the energy flowing would not be enough to power the microwave (or Wi-Fi router) to send a signal.
If you know anyone who repeatedly unplugs anything, encourage them to stop what they are doing.
If they need counseling, then take them to counseling. You wouldn't want them taking their keys out of the ignition while driving, right?
'Til next time
