The Northern
Umbra
Well I can't remember the last time I woke up without reaching for a pill
The bottle; it calls to me and somehow I find it even when I can't pay my bills
And I've spent some mornings beside perfect strangers whose names never rang a bell
The bottle controls me, I'm helplessly wandering in my own personal hell

What do you see when you look in the mirror?
Cause all that I see is a fake, a fraud
And when you've realized you've lost all your purpose
You can't keep doing this night after night

This isn't me, I don't
Even feel the beating in my chest anymore
The bottle helps me sink;
Into a liquid haze, I'll go

The devil who once perched on my shoulder now dwells inside my head
The bottle is the only thing to silence the deafening sound it spreads

Forget about all the retribution
Put aside all the tears and guilt
Deep down we're only human
Searching for a common ground

What do you see when you look in the mirror?
Cause all that I see is a fake, a fraud
And when you've realized you've lost all your purpose
You can't keep doing this night after night

This isn't me, I don't
Even feel the beating in my chest anymore
The bottle helps me sink;
Into a liquid haze, I'll go
