Lessons from history presents; The Adventures of Abraham Lincoln. Abe Lincoln was a man with so many friends. Sometimes, they tried to secede from the friendship. But he said, "Hey you guys, you can't do that. We're friends!" One day, he visited his best friends, the Marx brothers. There was Groucho Marx, and his younger brother, Karl. Abe really liked the Marx brothers especially Groucho. And not Karl. But when he got to their house, Groucho was quite sad. "What's wrong?" Said Abraham Lincoln.
"I'm just worried that my name makes me into a grouch. Said Groucho. It was true. Names were like that. Such as Buffalo Bill, who killed buffalo. And Honest Abe, who killed honest people. But the funny thing was, Groucho wasn't really that grouchy. He was happy. That is what we call a hypotenuse. Karl was grouchy. And he was German. You could tell because he liked electric dance music, and had a picture of Mozart in his locket. And even though he was adopted, his parents raised him like their own son. Except they were mean to him.
"I can cheer you up, Groucho!" said Abraham Lincoln. "Let's go to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame."
"You mean it?"
"Sure! We can see the old-time greats, like the Beatles, and U2, And Nickleback!
"Okay!" Said Groucho. "Let's ride." So, Abraham Lincoln muttered a guttural incantation to the earth, and three horses came cantering out of the forest. They rode, and rode. Then they stopped for lunch. Karl distributed the egg salad sandwiches so that they all got the same amount. But Karl got a little more for being in charge.
"Wait a minute! Isn't that castle the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame?" Said Abraham Lincoln, pointing the a castle.
"Oh, yeah!" Said Karl, who had repulsive features. Suddenly, flying monkeys appeared from the castle. They picked up the travelers and carried them before the throne of King Elvis.
"Have mercy! We are but peaceful travelers!" Said Abraham Lincoln.
"I will set you free if you protect my kingdom from the British invasion." Said King Elvis.
"What do you mean?"
"Bring me Ringo's head!"
"But your Grace! The Beatles are a peaceful people!" Said Abraham Lincoln, the forty-fifth president.
"No, they are evil! Super evil!"
"Plus, they stole my name!" Said Pope John Paul, just passing by.
"And my name!" Said Pope Ringo George.
"Now go kill them!" Our heroes were conflicted. Except for Karl, who was German. And this is where we leave them. Will they sacrifice a rock legend to secure their own safety? Or do it just for fun? Find out next time on, The Adventure of Abraham Lincoln!
