Daydreaming at the Xerox machine
She envisions
Rainbows connecting realms,
Summer passes in an afternoon.
She's been staying out where the road meets the sky
At a place called the Moonscape Motel
The thoughts of Ira Gershwin pass through the office
Like Halley's comet in the semi-dark
On her walk home,
A malfunction in the moonlight
Revealing again a world outside of this
But only for a split second
Until
Reflected in the black glow of her shoes,
The red neon sign of the Moonscape Motel.
