3DS Max Lighting Tips For Artists and Video Game Designers
The new version of Nintendo's DS handheld game console has included a new feature called the "3D renderings". In case you don't know what a 3D render is, here's an explanation. Imagine how an artist would design the scene in the top-down view in painting, only using a camera to film the image of their subject. They'd then proceed to create a computer-generated version of that scene in 3D by using software such as Paint Shop Pro or a similar program. Computer graphics is the most common use of this kind of technique.

3ds Max. 3d rendering software enables you to create beautiful worlds in your DS handheld game, gorgeous scenes for level design visualization, and more detailed characters with lighting. You could add weather effects, crash hazards, and destructible scenery to existing scenes, or you could add new scenes. When you need to create a new scene, all you have to do is select an icon that resembles a camera, click the command button, and let your imagination run wild 3DS Max 3d rendering.

Let's take a look at an example of what I mean. Suppose you wanted to make an underwater scene in your underwater adventure game. What kind of things would you add? Well, you could include some fish and coral. You could put underwater pipes and other things that create the effect of water rising up to the surface. You could place wreck pieces and other objects to help build up the sub level.

One way you might add depth to your underwater scenes is to add a light ring. How would this work? Well, imagine light coming out from under the water. A light ring is simply an area of light around the player character. This can be done in many ways, but I would suggest making it as big as possible so that more of the environment is in the light ring.

A good example of a light ring in the ocean would be a humpback whale. There would be lots of objects underwater and lots of interesting lighting. It would be a great place to take your camera, get a few minutes of film, and record everything. Then you could take that film to a dark room where it would be well received and used.

One way of creating depth in water is by using reflections. You could do this by having water reflect on certain objects. How do you know what objects to include? The best thing to do would be to take a photo of the ocean or coastline and look at it in Photoshop. There should be something there that captures the essence of the area.

After you have your photo, the next step is to add a little bit of realistic water to it. This can be done by using objects with small amounts of translucency. Examples of small translucency objects would be sea shells, small pebbles or anything else that has some amount of translucency to it. You can even use the ocean itself if it has enough depth. Think about the way that the ocean looks like when it is stirred by the wind. Now translate that into the 3D scene you are creating.

You will need to do the next part, which is to create the actual light ring. This is pretty easy. For starters, you would just need to go to the "Light" option on the render tool menu, and set up the ring. Make sure that the color of the light ring matches the color of the area you have selected in Photoshop. Once you have done that, you will have a simple light ring in your hand.
