Is it possible to die in the same recurring dream?
Probably
I don’t question it, I just let it happen
Doesn’t it hurt?
Well if you’re talking about dying in a dream, to feel like it’s supposed to hurt
Do you dream about dying?
Most of the time, yeah, it happens
What do you think about when you sleep?
Drowning—sinking into the bottom of the ocean by the tower and just resting my head on some rocks
Trippy...why the tower though? Seems like a bad place to die, y’know
Why’s that?
I don’t know, I mean like—if it was during the day, you got people walking down the peer from time to time
If they see you jump in the water, someone’s bound to catch you
Who said I was gonna jump?
Alright, how would you imagine yourself drowning in the ocean?
I’d take one step for the water, before I even take the next I stare out into the big blue, then at the sky
Next thing you know, the next step I take is my my last
And you always have dreams like this?
Yeah, every night
What is that, like some kind of destiny?
I don’t know
I just think about it a lot
Sounds like a really shitty way to die
Not to me
Take it from a guy who has dreams about the ocean all the time, I think it’s something of a beautiful mystery y’know
I can’t answer that—too deep for me
Can’t be that deep
Think of it like this:
If everybody in the world could be thinking about ending their lives with a car crash or a hanging
I imagine myself sinking, or at the least, floating in the ocean
I find it a mysterious way to go
I don’t understand how that’s considered “mysterious” to you
Well with a car crash or hanging you understand their process and what led them to it
Other times you don’t, with the ocean you can’t understand a way
Even with a body floating in the middle of it
You want people to guess how you ended up dead?
They won’t know I’m dead, see
They’ll just see a floating body but they can’t determine whether it’s still alive or not
That’s bullshit
No it isn’t
Yeah it is, I mean if you see a floating body in the water, clearly you can tell the person’s dead
That’s how everyone sees it, and that’s what adds mystery to it
“Are they alive or are they pretending to be dead?”
What are you getting at exactly?
Look around you
Look at everyone in their workplaces, schools, homes
Are they really alive?
What the fuck kind of question is that?
Think about it
There’s nothing to think about
You see everyone? Do you see yourself? Do you see me? Look at what you’re doing right now
You’re asking me something that relates to their status of life
I’m asking you if you think they’re alive
I’m really trying my best to follow
We’re born and raised with the concept of moving forward
Progressing in life until our bodies and mind give out
From the moment we’re born we’re given instruction, instruction of what’s right and what’s wrong
Instruction on how to walk from A to B
Instruction from, being home on time from a long day, from work or school
We're programmed by those who created us, who are passing down the same instruction by those who created them
We’re not as free as we think we are
See we teach ourselves that being different is what also moves us forward
The longer we follow the same rule, the more we become intolerant to our environment
Or walking, breathing, thinking even, sure
But are we living, are we living to our fullest potential or are we just mindless slaves to our own eventual demise?
Do these sort of things keep you up at night?
Yeah, all the time actually
And you think drowning yourself is the best way to die
I think it’s the best way to die because it’s the most mysterious way to die
And no one will find an immediate reason or answer to why I did it
But I’ll do it anyways, just to get out of here
Do you need help?
I ask myself that all the time I think likethis-
But no, when the time is right, I’ll get help
I mean, why not get it now
I don’t need it now
If I die before I even get help I’ll be the first to know
I see
Thank you for asking me that
Anytime
