Scarlett Johansson
Civil War: Escape from Task Force
[Berlin. The German police are transporting Bucky in a heavily guarded truck, while Sam, Steve and T'Challa ride behind.]

SAM WILSON: So, you like cats?

STEVEN ROGERS: Sam.

SAM WILSON: What? Dude shows up dressed like a cat and you don't wanna know more?

STEVEN ROGERS: Your suit. Is it Vibranium?

T'CHALLA: The Black Panther has been the protector of Wakanda for generations, a mantle passed from warrior to warrior. And now, because your friend murdered my father, I also wear the mantle of king. So I ask you, as both warrior and king, how long do you think you can keep your friend safe from me?

[They arrive at the Joint Counter Terrorist Centre's headquarters in Berlin. Steve, Sam and T'Challa get off the truck; Steve sees Bucky being taken away, locked in some sort of cage. They meet with EVERETT ROSS and Sharon Carter]

STEVE ROGERS: What's going to happen?

EVERETT ROSS: The same thing that ought to happen to you: psychological evaluation and extradition.

SHARON CARTER: This is Everett Ross, deputy task force commander.

STEVE ROGERS: What about our lawyer.

EVERETT ROSS: Lawyer, that's funny. See to their weapons are placed in the lock up. Oh, we'll write you a receipt.

SAM WILSON: I better not look out the window and see anybody flying around in that.

[The group start walking in a corridor]

EVERETT ROSS: You'll be provided with an office instead of a cell. And do me a favour, stay in it.

T'CHALLA: I don't intending on going anywhere.

NATASHA ROMANOFF: For the record, this is what making things worse looks like.

STEVE ROGERS: He's alive.

[They arrive at the control center]

TONY STARK [on the phone]: And, Colonel Ross is supervising the clean up.

NATASHA ROMANOFF: Try not to break anything while we fix this.

TONY STARK: Consequences? You bet there will be consequences. Obviously you can quote me on that because I just said it. Anything else? Thank you, sir. [Ends phone call]

STEVE ROGERS: Consequences?

TONY STARK: Secretary Ross wants you both prosecuted. I had to give him something.

STEVE ROGERS: I'm not getting that shield back, am I?

NATASHA ROMANOFF: Technically, it's the government's property. Wings too.

SAM WILSON: That's cold.

TONY STARK: Warmer than jail.

[Switch to a scene where a driver, who appeared at the beginning of the Berlin scene, is driving near the building. Scene switches back Tony and Steve sitting at a table]

TONY STARK: Hey, you want to see something cool? I pulled something from dad's archives. Well, timely. FDR signed the Land-Lease bills with these in 1941. Provided support to the allies when they needed most.

STEVE ROGERS: Some would say it brought our country closer to war.

TONY STARK: See, if not for these, you wouldn't be here. I'm trying to, what do you call it? a... an olive branch. Is that what you call it?

STEVE ROGERS: Is Pepper here? I didn't see her.

TONY STARK: We are... kinda... - well not kinda...

STEVE ROGERS: Pregnant?

TONY STARK: No, definitely not. We're taking a break. It's nobody's fault.

STEVE ROGERS: So sorry, Tony. I didn't know.

TONY STARK: Few years ago, I almost lost her, so I trashed all my suits. Then, we had to muck up HYDRA. And then Ultron, my fault. And then, and then, and then, I never stopped, 'cause the truth is I don't wanna stop. I don't want to lose her. I thought maybe the Accords can split the difference. In her defense, I'm her handful, yet dad was a pain in the ass, but he and mom always made it work.

STEVE ROGERS: You know, I'm glad Howard got married. I only knew him when he was young and single.

TONY STARK: Oh really? You two knew each other? He never mentioned that. Maybe only a thousand times. God, I hated you.

STEVE ROGERS: I don't mean to make things difficult.

TONY STARK: I know, because you're a very polite person.

STEVE ROGERS: If I see a situation pointed south, I can't ignore it. Sometimes I wish I could.

TONY STARK: No, you don't.

STEVE ROGERS: No, I don't. Sometimes-

TONY STARK: Sometimes I wanna punch you in your perfect teeth... but I don't wanna see you gone. We need you, Cap. Until further, nothing's happen that can't be undone, please... sign. We can make the last 24 hours legit. Barnes gets transferred to an American psych center instead of a Wakandan prison.

STEVE ROGERS: I'm not saying it's impossible, but there would have to be safeguards

TONY STARK: Sure. Once we put out the PR fire, these documents can be amended. I filed a motion to have you and Wanda reinstated.

STEVE ROGERS: Wanda? What about Wanda?

TONY STARK: She's fine. She's confined to the compound currently. Vision's keeping her company.

STEVE ROGERS: Oh God, Tony! Every time. Every time I think you're seeing things the right way...

TONY STARK: What? It's a 100 acres with a lap pool. It's got a screening room. There's worse ways to protect people.

STEVE ROGERS: Protection? Is that how you see this? This is protection? It's internment, Tony.

TONY STARK: She's not a US Citizen.

STEVE ROGERS: Oh, come on, Tony.

TONY STARK: And they don't grant visas to Weapons of Mass Destruction.

STEVE ROGERS: She's a kid!

TONY STARK: GIVE ME A BREAK! I'm doing what has to be done ...to save us something worse.

STEVE ROGERS: You keep telling yourself that. [Gives the FDR pen back] Hate to break up the set.

[The scene changes to Zemo; he is posing as the court sent psychiatrist and is talking to Bucky]

HELMUT ZEMO: Hello, Mr. Barnes. I've been sent by the United Nations to evaluate you. Do you mind if I sit? [He sits down] Your first name is James?

[Steve and Sam are watching it happen, but there's no sound. Sharon walks in]

SHARON CARTER: The receipt for your gear.

SAM WILSON: [looks at receipt] Bird costume? Come on.

SHARON CARTER: I didn't write it.

[She looks around and presses a button. Suddenly, they can all listen in on the conversation. Natasha is outside, listening as well]

HELMUT ZEMO: I'm not here to judge you. I just want to ask you a few questions. Do you know where you are, James? I can't help you if you don't talk to me, James.

BUCKY BARNES: My name is Bucky.

[The scene cuts back to the driver, who's a delivery man. He gives a package to a worker.]

DELIVERY MAN: [In German] Hello?

WORKER: [In German] Hey.

DELIVERY MAN: [In German] Okay. Here. Just sign here.

WORKER: [In German] Here?

DELIVERY MAN: [In German] Yeah.

[Scene cuts back to Steve watching Bucky's psych evaluation. He looks at the picture the task force released to the public and seems pensive.]

STEVE ROGERS: Why would the task force release this photo to begin with?

SHARON CARTER: Get the word out? Involve as many eyes as we can?

STEVE ROGERS: Right. It's a good way to flush a guy out of hiding. Set off a bomb, get your picture taken. You get 7 million people looking for the Winter soldier.

SHARON CARTER: You're saying someone framed him to find him.

SAM WILSON: Steve, we looked for the guy for 2 years and found nothing.

STEVE ROGERS: We didn't bomb the UN. That turns a lot of heads.

SHARON CARTER: So? That doesn't guarantee that whoever framed him would get him a guarantees that we would.

[Both of them seem to realize something is off]

STEVE ROGERS: Yeah.

[Cut back to the psych evaluation]

HELMUT ZEMO: Tell me, Bucky. You've seen a great deal, haven't you?

BUCKY BARNES: I don't want to talk about it.

HELMUT ZEMO: You feel that... if you open your mouth, the horrors might never stop. Don't worry-

[Zemo looks at his tablet. A small box appears with "MESSAGE INBOX: 1". He taps on it and the box then reads "STATUS: PACKAGE DELIVERED".]

HELMUT ZEMO: We only have to talk about one.

[Scene cuts back to the worker, who opens the box to see a bomb-like machine.]

WORKER: Hey. What is this?

[The machine lets loose an electromagnetic pulse (EMP), which fries all electronics, including cameras and microphones at the Task Force HQ.]

EVERETT ROSS: Great. Come on, guys. Get me eyes on Barnes! Go.

TONY STARK: F.R.I.D.A.Y., give me the source of that outage.

[scene cuts back to where Sam, Steve and Sharon were]

SHARON CARTER: Sub-level 5, east wing.

[cut back to Bucky and Zemo]

BUCKY BARNES: What the hell is this?

HELMUT ZEMO: Why don't we discuss your home? Not Romania. Certainly not Brooklyn, no. I mean, your real home. [in Russian] Longing.

BUCKY BARNES: No...

HELMUT ZEMO [in Russian]: Rusted.

BUCKY BARNES: Stop.

HELMUT ZEMO [in Russian]: Seventeen.

BUCKY BARNES: AAAAARGH!

HELMUT ZEMO [in Russian]: Daybreak. Furnace. Nine. Benign. Homecoming One. Freight car.

[As Zemo continues to say the words, Bucky tries to break out of his cage to stop him from finishing, but when he finally does, Zemo is done.]

HELMUT ZEMO: Soldier?

BUCKY BARNES: Ready to comply.

HELMUT ZEMO: Mission report. December 16, 1991.

[Steve and Sam are running towards where Bucky was, a trail of bodies welcoming them as they go. They arrive and see Zemo on the ground, feigning to be hurt]

HELMUT ZEMO Help me. Help.

STEVE ROGERS: Get up. [grabs Zemo by the collar, pins him on the wall and lifts him] Who are you? What do you want?

HELMUT ZEMO: [realizing he's been found and smirking] To see an empire fall.

[Bucky comes from the shadows as Sam walks in and swings his metal arm towards his head. Luckily, Sam dodges, but he is no match for the Winter Soldier. He then goes against Cap, and pushes him down an elevator. Meanwhile, Sam becomes conscious again and sees Zemo leaving.]

SAM WILSON: Hey.

[Sam runs after Zemo. Scene cuts back to where Everett Ross is]

EVERETT ROSS: Evac all civilians. Give me a perimeter around the building and gunships in the air.

NATASHA ROMANOFF: Please tell me you brought a suit.

TONY STARK: Sure do. It's a lovely Tom Ford, three-Piece, two-button. I'm in active duty, non combatant.

SHARON CARTER: Follow me.

[Sam is pursuing Zemo. Steve tries to get back to the level he was on by climbing the elevator supports. Bucky is trying to escape, fighting his way through the many agents.]

NATASHA ROMANOFF [in comms]: We're in position.

[Tony prepares an IronMan glove and fights with Bucky, but loses. Sharon and Natasha team up against him; Sharon gets flipped on a table which breaks. Natasha tries to choke him with her legs while she hits his head, but he drops her on a table and proceeds to choke her with his metal arm.]

NATASHA ROMANOFF: You could at least recognize me.

[T'Challa springs into action and fights on equal terms with him. As he kicks him away and down, T'Challa jumps down the platform to see where Bucky is, but he has disappeared. Sam is outside looking for Zemo, but within the commotion of the civilians evacuating, he finds the jacket he had on him on the ground]

SAM WILSON: Damn it.

[Bucky is trying to escape using with a helicopter, but Captain America, with his supersoldier strength, catches a part of the helicopter and literally curls it like a dumbbell. This stops the vehicle from taking the air. Bucky, visibly annoyed, tries to hurt Cap with the helicopter, but it crashes on the landing pad. Winter Soldier tries to choke Steve throw the windshield, but the vehicle plunges into the river down low; as it does, Bucky hits his head on the glass, knocking him out. Cap saves his life]

[Scene changes to a restaurant where Zemo is on the phone]

HELMUT ZEMO'S WIFE: [on the phone] He asked me again if you're going to be there? I said I wasn't sure. You should've seen his little face. Just try, okay? I'm going to bed. I love you.

REPORTER [in German]: James Barnes, the suspect in the bombing of the UN in Vienna escaped from prison today Also disappeared are the Avengers, Captain Steve Rogers and Sam Wilson.

[Zemo gets up and is going to board a plan to Moscow]
