The Wordshipper
Active Shooter
[Verse 1]
She woke up one morning on Valentine's day
Got dressed, brushed her teeth, and she’s out on her way
To the bus stop a couple blocks down from her place
Bearing gifts for her friends, what a time to celebrate
Love and life, just living life
Got on the bus without a second thought
This her daily routine and so what could go wrong?
So she gets to her school's bus ramp, and exits
Went to class by class, exchanging gifts
She loved it
Loved the way it made her feel
Giving gifts to her friends, it was a good day
And she really loved it man
Then right before dismissal the fire alarm went off
They all thought it was a drill, so they got out on the spot
Out the classroom, through the hallway
She saw the exit door and coughed
That's when the gunshots rang out, and the exit door was closed and locked
She was pushed through the hallways, all the kids screamed out
And she was star-struck
She was pushed into a classroom, they locked the door and hid out
Screams of pain and agony and loud bangs from the gun rang out
She hadn’t ever experienced this and so tears filled her eyes
Took out her phone, and said her final goodbyes
The shooter barged in and after that she wasn't alive

[Verse 2]
Rewind a year back, a boy was kicked out of his school
For fighting his ex's boyfriend and getting into trouble at school
He went out later and bought an AR-15
So what happened to cause this kid to end the life of seventeen?
Valentine's day, 2018
He woke up and filled the AR with a loaded magazine
He grabbed a few other mags and proceeded to leave
The shirt he was wearing, was his school's
J-Double-R-O-T-C
He snook right in, no one even suspected it
Pulled the fire alarm, and let the bullets rip
A few got out, but what's a few with more to kill?
His mentality was truly his reality
Insanity filled his thoughts for years
Even before this catastrophe
He barged into the first classroom he seen
After gunning down a few teens scattered in the hallways, it seemed
He saw a girl on her phone and he looked her in the eyes
He pulled the fuckin' trigger
In his mind, he said, ‘goodnight.'
After more bodies dropped, and the count of dead grew
He was apprehended in police custody
He was through

[Verse 3]
Active shooters on the campus killing the kids and teachers
See, I’m all for gun control
But we need to stop blaming the gun
And start blaming the killer, yo
This shit could’ve been avoided, so many tips were given
But the fuckin' FBI didn’t seem to pay no attention
It's the governments fault
It's the guns
It's the kids
It’s the mind of this troubled kid that no one seemed to give a shit in

[Outro]
Pray for Douglas
Gun control now
We are students
We are victims
Our demands will be met
And they will not go unnoticed
