The Humble Knight
The knight in his armor cold
Was unable to find love

Trapped in a hard shell of onyx and gold
With a heart as light as a dove

He looked up into the listless sky
And saw a lock of vermilion hair

The fiery maiden had caught his eye
And he knew that he had to be there

So, many miles the knight had tread
And yet his lass was never there
But still the image of her hair
Was fresh inside his head

So, hush now child the silence keep
The humble knight has come to call
And I'll be here until I fall
Until I fall asleep

No light to the knight had come
And his search proved fruitless and vain

Every village he searched
Every town he came from
Proved a link in a resolute chain
But when he asked about a maiden with fiery hair
Stories of her would unfurl
A maiden who needed no knight or care
Was called the antipodal girl

She cast a light wherever she went
And yet her form would cast no shade
And even as this song is played
Her voyage is not spent

So, in years of his searching
The knight had made no ground
But, through all of his trials
He heard a hopeful sound

That a fiery maiden
Was searching for a knight
Who could balance her light

Now, night and day do circle the earth
In search of love they'll never meet

But, still upon their tireless feet
They dance eternally

So, hush now child, the silence keep
The humble knight has come to call
And I'll be here until I fall
I'll be here until I fall
I'll be here until I fall
Until I fall asleep
