Telescopes on earth, constellations that we name
Earthbound comets that we try to tame

Black holes, impossible to escape
Act as bottomless pits of the vast cosmic spacescape
Life dies in scores every second
Throughout the eternal void, throughout the black void

Perilous obstacles we'll never overcome
Space dust, radiation, asphyxiation
A vastness, yet to be discovered, for aeons

Old planets disintegrate and its natural life end
While infant stars are formed and new life begins
Millenial of time are required to explore
Cosmic realms and all its ancient lore

Alien craft venture to different suns
Yet our own space race has yet to be won
All that is possible is to stare and observe
