Un Rodo Cora
Perfect Strangers
He walked into her life
Just as someone walked out
Leaving her in a pile
He swept her up and sat her down
Heard her story through the crying
Washed away her tears with wine
And he turned them into pearls
As he wooed those eyes of hers
And she forgot the other swine
A perfect stranger
So she moved into his place
Shared his friends and shared his taste
Shared his views and then his name
Got a mortgage and a house
Bought a beagle, named it Mouse
Their family picture in a frame
From perfect strangers
Life is a fairytale
Now she’s heading off to work
Serving drinks to drunken jerks
While he is home doing the same
Or hurry home, prepare the meal
Watch him eat it silently
And maybe watch him watch the game
Like perfect strangers
