Tonight's top story is the infamous, and what the media have now nicknamed, the Algedonic murders. What seemed to start off as a bizarre and random act of violence has now turned into a national phenomenon. There are now twenty-four bodies that have turned up and all fit the same description. They involve odd shaped symbols that are derived from circle and triangle shapes as well as the number 88. These were originally thought to be random killings, first starting in Georgia. But immediately after the first body was reported, bodies started popping up in Kentucky, Texas, Florida, New York, Ohio, Michigan, and have now even stretched out to California. Let's turn to serial killer analyst Chuck Sharpe. Chuck, do you have any kind of insight on what we're dealing with here?

Good evening, Julie. To be honest, we can't figure out if this is coming from one person or a group. In some ways, these murders portray very high levels of possible cult activity. Judging by the nature of the wounds inflicted, it appears whoever is doing this, they're not just trying to kill their victims. It's clearly obvious that it's sadistic torture for entertainment value
