Thought Sarah, at the table
Her husband had just left
Almost slammed the front door off its hinges
Sarah sat and wept
Tears on her illuminated phone screen
Stove on high

Soon, wisps of smoke would curl out from under the pan
What if she just sat there? what if she just stared
While fire climbed the shelving, smolder filled the air?

Some of us find comfort, ease in the mundane
Some of us would rather see it all go up in flames
