Everybody Gets to Go to the Moon
How many times have I been downhearted, looked up and saw him smiling like a shining dime
Wish that he could stay and tell me why he was so happy if he had the time
Wish there was a way to raise him, catch a flying horse and chase him

Everybody gets to go to the moon
Everybody gets to go, it'll be quite soon
It's customary in songs like this to use a word like "spoon"
By the light of the silvery, take a flight to the silvery
Everybody's going to the moon

How many times while looking down has he heard us in his songs and wondering who we were
Then with us because the lady in the moon is gone and now he misses her
Wonder to himself why is it no one ever pays a visit

Everybody gets to go to the moon
Everybody gets to go, it'll be quite soon
It's customary in songs like this to use a month like "June"
By the light of the silvery, take a flight to the silvery
Everybody's going to the moon

Isn't it a miracle
We're the generation
That will touch that shiny flower
With our own two hands
Has to make you glad to be alive
Has to make you proud to be a man, a man, a man
How many times have I heard a cynic saying I was a fool to try and reach for him
Heard a dreamer say the sky's the limit and had to laugh and reach for him
And I suppose the point is only that another's no longer lonely

Everybody gets to go to the moon
Everybody gets to go, it'll be quite soon
It's customary in songs like this to use a word like "croon"
By the light of the silvery, take a flight to the silvery
Everybody's going to the moon
The moon!
