Richard Marx
What’s a Man
The little boy
That lives inside
A grown-up man
Never dies
He still loves to run
And rough around
His careless ways
Know no bounds

He learned from dad
And carved his own way
But he still dreams
Of better days
He still loves a toy
And can skip a stone
But without love
He stands alone

What’s a man
But flesh and blood
He’ll face his fears with sweat and tears
For what he’s dreaming of
And with his back
To the wall he will fight
In the end he knows that he is
Nothing without love in his life
Sometimes it’s hard
To understand
Just what it means
To be a man
He’ll meet the challenge
Answer the call
But there’s strength in knowing
Can’t win ‘em all

What’s a man
But flesh and blood
He’ll face his fears with sweat and tears
For what he’s dreaming of
And with his back
To the wall he will fight
In the end he knows that he is
Nothing without love in his life

In his moments of strength
He will go any length
To try and change the world

What’s a man
But flesh and blood
He’ll face his fears with sweat and tears
For what he’s dreaming of
And with his back
To the wall he will fight
In the end he knows that he is
Nothing without love in his life
What’s a man
