Looking back a few years ago
When I first moved to KCMO
I thought I’d never be happy again
And now I see what I needed
I went from being homeless on Jeff’s couch
To getting my own loft downtown
3rd floor with a view
Of a skyline I’ll soon be leaving

I hope I never have to write these songs again
I want to give people a chance and not be so full of hate
I want to leave the bible belt and rub it in their face
I want to have some hope in the human race again
