Emilio Rojas
Writer’s Block
[Verse One]
Yo, visualizing the realism of life and actuality
You have to love or think or at least have the right mentality
But in reality, Chief just steady on a mission
Decipher my vision, write it all in this composition
Ain’t no competition, just listen, follow the rhythm
Flow’s come with some itching, just put yourself in position
In addition, it helps if you ain’t spitting fiction
Be lifted and never getting conflicted with decisions
But even though I’m right, it’s like I’m in a fight with myself
In the light, trying to follow my advice with my pen in my hand
And I’m staring at this book and I’m shook
Should I write the verse or the hook?
I let the music feel my veins and my heart just pumps
I try to stand like a tree but I still get stumped
In a slump ‘cause now I got nothing to say for the ending
So I’m dumped right back to where I was in the beginning

[Hook]
What do I say? What do I write? What do I say? What do I write?
What do I say? What do I say? What do I write? What do I write?
What do I say? What do I write? What do I say?

[Verse Two]
Yo, I brainstorm as I look in my heart ‘cause I heard the beat
And I ain’t know where to start, I understand, ain’t no rushing the art
But you’ll never make it to your destination if you never depart
And I had a lot of time for completing this
Know a lot of people will be peeping this but for now, I’m insecure
And the reason is they always seems to put you on a petri dish
And analyze each and every word and compare your verse and your life’s work
To every rapper that they ever heard, I see why love is such a heavy word
‘Cause you may love teaching but you’re only measured by how many learn
That’s why I gotta get this verse out ‘cause lyrically
I’m better than my insecurities and worst doubts
And I say there’s no stopping me but that’s all in my head
‘Cause writer’s block is still blocking me
