~John Laurens~
At the Isaac Potts House at Valley Forge there is a sign saying how John Laurens hit his head on the ceiling of the garret two times while sleeping there. We cannot be 100% of its accuracy seeing as there is no source.
Henry Laurens (Laurens' father) forgot John Laurens' 15th birthday.
John Laurens actually slept with his future brother-in-law. After Laurens' death, his younger brother, Henry (though we'll refer to him as Harry to avoid confusion with their father), married Elizabeth Rutledge. Miss Rutledge was sisters with Martha Kinloch who was Francis Kinloch's wife.
John Laurens was not obsessed with turtles as everyone in the probably dead Hamilton fandom likes to point out. He really did draw those pictures of turtles but they were actually a commission. He draw plenty of other things, such as many different kinds of birds and plants, especially flowers. He even ate turtle soup once, so he really didn't love them so much to the point where he wouldn't eat the food.
After his death, John Laurens' fellow soldiers looted his dead body, taking his army uniform, boots, gloves, any money in his pockets, etc.
John Laurens was most likely gay based off of the letters he exchanged with Francis Kinloch and Alexander Hamilton and other evidence.
When fighting in a battle, witnesses said that John Laurens threw his sword on the ground and stood against the British's bullets with his arms outstretched, yelling, "My honor does not permit me to survive the events of tonight!" During a separate battle he also looked down at dead soldiers and said, "I envy you."
John Laurens bumped into Francis Kinloch in America twice, the first time in September 1778, the second time sometime in 1780.
