Cafes and Clichés
Coffee shops smell like cities and sleep
And this one’s my favorite, not for their green tea
I’m much more invested with who’s behind the counter
They ask me daily, “Can i take your order?”
I'll wait for the day there’s a number next to my name on the cup
Cafes were made for cliches
A place to fall in love
I’ll blame the coffee for why my face is burning
So long future lover, I’ll be back tomorrow morning
Coffee shops feel like safety and home
Because of freshly baked pastries and cappuccinos
I’ve noticed the heart shaped foam art and your doodles on the receipts
There must be something brewing here between the barista and me
I'll wait for the day there’s a number next to my name on the cup
Cafes were made for cliches
A place to fall in love
I’ll blame the coffee for why my face is burning
So long future lover, I’ll be back tomorrow morning
You’re much more addicting than the caffeine
A.M. with you have become routine
I find that you’re sugar sweet
And that you mean much more to me
Than just someone who makes my coffee
Coffee shops feel like comfort and warmth
Like a breath of fresh air somewhere you’re meant to adore
You’ve got a look like there’s something you want to say
Cold brews have nothing on the chills I feel as you glance my way
And today there’s a number next to my name on the cup
Cafes were made for cliches
A place to fall in love
I’ll blame the coffee for why my face is burning
So long lover, I’ll be back tomorrow morning
