If You’re Anything Like Her (Poem)
If you're anything like her,
you’ve always have a bad habit of biting your nails
and you put a wall on your vulnerability to your emotions
you always promise people the world,
but never would give the same to yourself
you've always wanted to give them what they want,
even if it's every part of you
it’s makes you feel like your actually enough…
If you're anything like her,
you cross your fingers for luck
and hold your breath, praying that nothing will go wrong
wishing on pennies that you've thrown into fountains
because if it gets too good, it pulls you back and scares you
If you're anything likе her
you've nevеr wanted to hide your key,
the key to your secret rose garden, the key to the secret door
or the childhood diaries that were once hidden in your drawers
Rest In Peace to the girl you no longer know anymore
Creeping fears that she was better before
“I've never would've done this to you”
But you've learned that you have to
If you’re anything like her,
There’s this type of system in your head
Of names you'll never talk about again
Secrets that you’ll never tell for the sake of it
Every enemy, old and new
Now is something that confines you
In your old little prison cell
where you left the old you
If you're anything like her,
You've grown to hate what's inside
To love a little piece of you even when it’s died
And no amount of friends over the years
will fill the space that was once here
loving and loosing, was never the liking of your choosing
If you're anything like her,
you never saw the real face of love
until they stripped it away
covering their sins like they never did a single thing
and then you saw the ones who wanted you anyway..
Maybe someday, you will thank them
for that hell of a day
If you're anything like her,
I'm really sorry
And maybe someday, it will all be okay
