The Stuff of Us
Almost biblical scenes unfold
Somewhere they’re deep in our minds
Smell of the asphalt after the rain
It disentangled the line

What if we just let all the deadwood burn down
Could we open our smoke filled eyes
Just little more deep and wide
Oh Heaven spread all around us, love
Maybe too close to see
And the stuff of us that’s most real
Is eternal and free

To be blessed is always to be cursed as well
Dark matter holds it all in place
So when we grind against it
Let’s keep our angels true
Our bodies bend the empty space

What is we just let all deadwood burn down
Could we open our smoke filled eyes
Just little more deep and wide
Oh Heaven spread around us, love
Maybe too close to see
And the stuff of us that’s most real
Is eternal and free [x3]
