Man In The Moon
As I sit here below the light
And write these words to you
And I'm thinking how time just flies
Years of yesterdays all feel like they're new
I remember those cold cold nights
Felt like they started at noon
We only saw pitch black
Not the man in the moon
Now we look from the outside
We've distanced the pain
We've boxed disappointments and put them away
We don't cry anymore
And every once in a while there's a smile
Now don't let expectations
Fill the room of your heart
It'll shape it and break it
Till we've drifted apart
Now we look from the outside
We've distanced the pain
We've boxed disappointments and put them away
We don't cry anymore
And every once in a while there's a smile
Now we look from the outside
We've distanced the pain
We've boxed disappointments and put them away
We don't cry anymore
And every once in a while
Now there's a Smile here this afternoon
As I write these words to you
In a while, with our hope renewed
We look up to sky
Just you and I
And the man in the moon
