Beans On Toast
Extinction No.6
Looking at you now, you're one year old
Your mind is like a sponge soaking up the world
Full of questions, confusion and wonder
I wonder what you're gonna be like when you're older

And I worry about the world that's gonna surround ya

With an ocean full of plastic, devoid of any fish
And a history lesson on the barrier reef
Chaos caused by a changing climate
Clinging on to a dying planet

And it is my generation that must shoulder the blame
When the flood gates open and the forest fires rage
Our children will ask what did you do to stop it
And I don't wanna say that I just sat back and watched it

When the technology exists to change the way we are
But the system is so broken, so in love with the past
The dinosaurs in power are so stuck in their ways
It won't be easy to force the hand of change

But who gives a fuck if it's easy
If the science is right
And if we don't act now then the planet dies
