Beans On Toast
Lost Poetry Department
Please take all of your possessions before you leave the train
We're not pointing any fingers, everybody makes mistakes
We can tell you've got your hands full and your daughter's thirsty
And before these complications it was already quite the journey
In the middle of the heatwave, sweating profusely
There's a broken down train outside of Portsmouth & Southsea
And in turn it's causing chaos, rail replacements and delays
There's lots of angry travellers and yes mistakes were made
And you were up there safely in the overhead department
When the news came on the tannoy that we now terminate at Guildford
Quickly hustled through the station on to another train
And the minute that the doors slam shut I realised my mistake
And I've made one or two mistakes in my time
I'm sure I'm gonna make one or two more
I lost my wallet, lost my keys, I lost my integrity
I lost these things and found them all before
But there was no one else to blame (but there was no one else to blame)
The day I left Martin on the train (the day I left Martin on the train)
Well the others went to Waterloo and I headed back to Guildford
I started freaking out as the reality unfolded
Trust can make things special, time can make things real
And I've never left anything on a train before
