Unni Wilhelmsen
Journey
You're on a journey
Through night and day
And there used to be this passenger aboard
You don’t know anymore
When you'll reach the bay
Or even if you'll ever gat ashore
An ocean with waves like this
Sure can get mean
There’s nothing to do but to follow the stream
No there's nothing to do
But to follow the stream...

You are the ship
And now it's abandoned
But the passenger has left behind his things
Maybe he's safe or maybe he's stranded
He flew away on a pair of black wings
There you are, yet not quite alone
You look at the sky but the sun is gone
Yes, you look at the sky but the sun is gone...

The things he left you
Are memories and words
But you have to help your ship float
The deck is covered by greedy, black birds
And your only hope is one small lifeboat
You have no longer the strength to fight
You're looking around, but no land in sight
Yes, you're looking around
But no land in sight
A lonely lifeboat away from it's ship
From the cargo it’s about to sink
You stand by the rail
With your hand on your hip
And keep it in sight while you try not to think
The waiting birds have now all disappeared
And the emptiness inside you feels a bit weird
Yes, the emptiness inside, it feels a bit weird...

The passenger’s missing
And now his things, too
The luggage of thoughts are travelling alone
At last on your ship there's only you
The words and the promises are finally gone
You had to get rid of the things in your way
To be able to hoist the recovering sail
And in the end you will reach your own
Harbouring bay...
But the feelings still return
As the night kills the day...
