Unni Wilhelmsen
Little Mouse Me
He walks back and forth from ear to ear
Impossible to sleep!
From the kitchen to the sacristy
Trampling around on white wooden shoes
Got his own key
In his black hat, ponytail and green
His eyes
From the back of his head
They're watchin’ me

Cat and mouse in the kitchen
Messing on mosaic floors
Little mouse me giving in
Turning red in the sacristy

White uniforms, yellow floors
Help me!
He catches me with rubber gloves
Puts me on a bow of stainless steel
Hospital machinery
Screaming!
The only sound let through to me

Cat and mouse in the kitchen
Messing on mosaic floors
Little mouse me giving in
Turning red in the sacristy
He's painting in here
Between my ears
This is not how it used to be
Wide strokes of dark
Covering my white

Black cat lurking, after night shifts end
Silence
Green eyes quite content
Blood stains running down pathetic floors
Little mouse me is no more...
