In the Middle of the Room (Part II)
[GORDON]
Here I lie
In the middle of the night
And I have to try
To not think I’m dying
Nurses sigh
As they welcome in the light
And I ask them why
They’re not being mean
Six-fifteen
Quarter of;
I send love
Every which way
Eight o’clock
Half past nine
Surgery’s delayed
I recline
Not a bit dismayed
In the middle of my brain
In the middle of the sky
I would like to entertain
But I’ll merely say goodbye
