I'm supposed to be a poet/
If you don't know something I'm supposed to know it/
You look to me for guidance/
As if what your looking for/
I can just find it/
But what bothers me more/
It ain't that I can afford to buy a new mic/
It's when you tell me to speak up/
And I just can't think of/
Any more bars to write/
To fill the silence/
Some of you say I belong in an asylum/
Cause you want me to find the balance between peace and war/
And apply it/
And whatever you've done that can justify it/
Maybe that's why I'm so defiant/
Maybe that's why I'm the one who raises my trident/
If I feel pain I just have to hide it/
So deep inside me that even I can't find it
They're spraying these bullets/
I can dodge some/
But some of em hit me like a hole in one/
Try harder man as a rule of thumb/
Maybe next time you can get the job done/
Cause guess what/
I'm still here/
Killed near/
Cause I wouldn't give you the cure/
To your problems/
But it never occurred to you that I don't have it/
You should really go and solve em/
Cause the only one who can is you/
Is there even a decent man in you/
But your on the sideline/
And I'm on the front lines/
As the war wages on I think it's about time/
We worked together/
Its time you realized that I'm not the enemy/
But the people who stand in our way ain't either/
The real enemy for you is you/
Look deep inside/
I know you've tried to hide it/
But maybe now you can fight alongside it/
Because it can't be buried/
I know you already tried it/
I've got a big responsibility/
And I don't even know if I'm doing my job right/
Cause this is much harder than it seems/
