Love Me Til It Hurts - Commentary
[Jacoby Shaddix]
“Love me til it hurts” is definitely another standout track from the record. The lyrical approach for this track was, just talking about the tumultuous relationships of us Rock’n’ Rollers and our, and our significant others, you know. I bet me and my wife had have had a very sorted rocky past and we’ve been through a lot of highs and a lot of lows and, you know, thank God we’re in a good space right now. We’re actually stronger than we’ve ever been. But its because, like, she loved me til’ it hurted her, you know, she loves me til’ it hurts, you know, and I love her when it hurts, you know, when, you know, I took those vows, you know, it’s like “I love you through all of it” and, you know, when she took those vows, “I will love you through thick and thin”, you know, and she loved me enough to, like, kick me out of my house and push me out of her life for a while to really send a strong message to me that like, “Hey, take a look at your life and own up to your shit” and that was, you know, at the moment I was like “man, you are just one rough chick”, like, but in hindsight it was exactly what I needed, It was all outa love, you know, because she cared for me and, you know, we made it through that patch, you know, but it was, because, you know, love wins, man. That’s the story at the end of the day and we got a fire between us that just, man no matter…There’s no amout of wreckage in this world that could separate me and that woman. And, I just, you know, were gonna be that couple, you know, like Sharon and Ozzy, you know, fast forward, you know, 25, 40, 50 years from where I’m at right now, you know, I see us growing old together man and there’s something beautiful about that. Something incredibly romantic about getting through all that hard…all those hard moments in your life and just still loving that person as much or if not more that the day we met or the day that we fell in love
