O’hene Savant
Born Again
Verse 1:
See me crucified in a song
Those who choose to die, it is strong
Some would rather live and prolong life
But they lose life in its form
How they run away from the storm?
Living day to day in the norm
May they see their fate in this poem
That they can embrace what we mourn
Join in this requiem mass
There’s joy in the death of a man
Mother, why you dressing in black?
He’s saved so address him as that
I’ve been alive in the past
Jesus helped me die and comeback
Jesus helped me rise from the ash
Now I’m saved by the grace of the land

Chorus (Sheda B):
Oh Lord, I want to be born again and again
Oh Lord, I want to be born again

O’hene: Y’all ain’t really hear me, I said

Verse 2 (*repeats Verse 1*):
See me crucified in a song
Those who choose to die, it is strong
Some would rather live and prolong life
But they lose life in its form
How they run away from the storm?
Living day to day in the norm
May they see their fate in this poem
That they can embrace what we mourn
Join in this requiem mass
There’s joy in the death of a man
Mother, why you dressing in black?
He’s saved so address him as that
I’ve been alive in the past
Jesus helped me die and comeback
Jesus helped me rise from the ash
Now I’m saved by the grace of the land
Chorus (Sheda B):
Oh Lord, I want to be born again and again
Oh Lord, I want to be born again

Verse 3:
Being transformed in the mind
That’s the only form that’s divine
You gon’ need more than a choir
And your hands raised toward the sky
Not against that, it’s a start
But the true path it is hard
For the true path is of God
Gotta move bad from your heart
Meaning you must die to yourself
There’s peace and in God there is wealth
If you can accept what he sells
Or if you can accept what she tells
It is written we will prevail
In the scriptures we didn’t fail
In a sense it’s freedom or hell
Saints choose in the kingdom themselves

Chorus (Sheda B):
Oh Lord, I want to be born again and again
Oh Lord, I want to be born again
You see the wonders of the living are unknown to the dead and similarly the beauty of death is a hidden aesthetic to those who live, but there is an oasis behind our last breath and before conception. This oasis awaits you again. I said again. So this is my altar call. Now it’s calling you all to be saints, to repent and be born again, for the kingdom of heaven is within you. Don’t wait. The kingdom of heaven is within you. Amen

Chorus (Sheda B):
Oh Lord, I want to be born again and again
Oh Lord, I want to be born again
