The Wilderness of Manitoba
The First Snowfall
Cold little hands and a leather glove
Reach into the sky above
And as you lace up your skates on a pile of snow
Find another place to go
Let go of my hand
The seasons might change my love
Don't try to understand
Just look to the sky above
Golden sled by the fire hole
Gaze into the light alone
And as a blue winter call falls across your yard
The distant sky a sea of stars
Look out on the land
Beyond us the northern light
A frozen lake where we stand
Surrounded by silent light
We walk through a winter of white stars above and below
And head for the hill side frozen and falling through snow
The days glow dark before the night is here
We lay in parks and enjoy the moon here
