Rock A Bye Butterfly
[Verse: Starborn]
To every action, there's a reaction, cause and effect
At least that's what the teacher said
But if I open up the window to the outside world
I feel puzzled at the head
See, life is but a thread
Actions crocheted, intertwined
Collectively building the final effect
But let one string deflect
Like a ripple in the water, it changes the course of the pattern
But, are you ready for what happens next?
Rock-a-bye, butterfly
See, we are the thread
Systematically woven to form whatever of us they expect
People in power have a strong hold on how they loop us into regret
Hunger in the street is becoming so much more apparent
As kids are separated from their parents
And I'm pretty sure poverty was the first to prove patent
So rock-a-bye, butterfly
Take me back to the place where overthrown were the governments
When its laws would anger the citizens listening
Come on now
Where's the part where we used our critical thinking
Question fucking everything
Don't trust anything
Change the course of your groove to alter the groove
Because maybe the algorithm of life needs some new moves
To come back to our own views
Instead of being the product of someone else's
'Cause that's when you're really screwed
Rock-a-bye, butterfly
I am seeking the effects of you
The course needs to change like a domino out of place
One move changes where the next one is placed
So maybe if we change the course of our brains, it will cause some change
I am sick of seeing the homeless ask for loose change
While the corporate owners are asking for loose lanes
Where they can fly their private planes
So rock-a-bye, butterfly
The system was made for us to stay in our lane
What if we switched without clicking the stick that ignites the arrow that lets you know where we plan to aim?
What if we made a turn without notice?
Shit, what if we changed the game?
Rock-a-bye, butterfly
If you moved how you weren't expected
It's the introduction of what could never be rejected
Destiny will be forced to show a new play
'Cause you're not gonna tell me our lives were already fixed a certain way
When I know damn well what I want I manifested
And you ain't seen this coming
But this poem, I'ma end it
With every pun intended
Just so you know your power
You decide how to end it
So rock-a-bye, butterfly
The rest of the verses are under your direction
So I hope you paid attention
