Move Ahead
[Intro]
I’ve never claimed to be perfect nobody’s perfect and I’m no exception
I walked down many roads some in the wrong direction but you can’t
Move ahead if you keep lookin’ back

[Verse 1]
The Pressure exists it’s time to wrestle with this
Demon confessin’ my sins so deeply nestled within
To feel relief as I release breathe in the wind
I look back at my life and can’t believe what I did
My early twenties were spent blackin’ the out on the liquor
Bad decisions and a blurred vision of the bigger picture
Every bit of it self-inflicted my career was the victim
Too many nights wasted out wasted and chasin’ women
All of that aside in 6 months I’ll be twenty nine
But I’ll keep on killin’ it until my skill is recognized
I’m helping now kids now they have my songs memorized
When I find a problem I try to leave it rectified
Some of my old fans don’t like how I rap now
Why cause I’m not rude stupid and blacked out?
My message was messed up but now that I know better
Y’all can pucker up and blow a kiss to my gold record

[Hook x2]
You can’t move ahead if you keep lookin’ back
So straight ahead is the direction I’m looking at
You wanna’ judge me? Go ahead and judge Judy
But I know who I am and you will never get to me!
[Verse 2]
Dudes I used to hang with have become my haters
They’re stuck at their day jobs and jealous I made it
But through it all I still wish you all the best
You know who you are you’re not getting fame off of this
Every artist no matter the art has to find themselves
And lately there is so much I’m inspire to write about
I stopped listenin’ to what they said rap should be
And started makin’ music that sounded good to me
That’s what`s all about use your creativity
Never stop learn to block negativity
There will always be those who wanna’ test you
Just because they’re envious that you are successful
I’ve had to sever ties with a lot of folks man
To stay on track and deliver like the post man
I’m not the judge here nor a member of the jury
But why you actin’ 16 when your turnin’ 30

[Hook x2]
You can’t move ahead if you keep lookin’ back
So straight ahead is the direction I’m looking at
You wanna’ judge me? Go ahead and judge Judy
But I know who I am and you will never get to me!

[Verse 3]
I’ve had my share of carelessness and embarrassment
But I lived and I learned to love my life and to cherish it
I’m a human like you and this song is my narrative
I will tell you the truth these other rappers are arrogant
I am not afraid to lay to it out the people will agree
This rap to me is everything the reason that I breathe
The only time I’m looking back when it comes to rap
Is the laugh at the boy who became the man that you see
I’ve been through a lot everybody has though
The trick is knowing when you should let the past go
Never let the old you determine your future
Keep shakin’ and movin’ until you’re makin’ the roof burst
People change all the time I’ve seen it a lot bro
They end up rock bottom walkin’ down the wrong road
Usually we need a little shake to wake up
And break away from these damn demons tryna’ break us
[Hook x2]
You can’t move ahead if you keep looking back
So straight ahead is the direction I’m looking at
You wanna judge me? Go ahead and judge Judy
But I know who I am and you will never get to me!
