Kimye vs. Tay
As most of you have probably seen, last night Kim Kardashian Snapchatted videos of Taylor Swift "consenting" to the offensive lyrics about her in Kanye West's "Famous." Right now, you might be thinking, "wow, a butthurt Swiftie trying to come to the rescue. Face it, Taylor is a lying snake." I'm not commenting on whether Taylor lied or not, because that isn't a hundred percent clear at this point. I'd like to take the time to point out a few flaws with Kimye's "reasoning."
One, the clips didn't reveal anything about Taylor consenting to the "I made that bitch famous" line, which is the one that sparked this controversy in the first place. That's the one she reacted to at the 2016 Grammy's, not the part about her and Kanye "still [having] sex." That was the line showcased in the video.
Two, it's illegal to record a conversation when a) you aren't involved in the conversation (cough cough, Kim) and/or b) you don't get the consent of both parties involved. Taylor obviously didn't know she was being recorded.
Three, don't those two have anything better to do than pick on a twenty-six year old? Kim and Kanye are absolutely loaded, with a combined net worth of over $200 million. Not to mention they have two children to take care of; meanwhile, they're spending their time acting like children.
Again, I'm not saying "Taylor is innocent, she's not lying," because I don't know the full story. None of us do. But assuming Taylor is lying and applauding Kim and Kanye is downright ridiculous, seeing as a) there is no evidence of Taylor consenting to the line calling her a bitch, and b) Kim illegally recorded Kanye's conversation with Taylor.
