Overdose On You
Head in the clouds as we lay down, static on the tv in the background
Empty wine glass from the last round next to old pill bottles that we tracked down
No sheets on stained mattress, keeping warm with our passion
Most of you would see a basket case but to us we feel the attraction
Make up smearing on my white tee, surviving with love and a pipe dream
On our own and just 19 against the world and what life brings
Had no family now, they were just tearing us down
See our parents apparently pairing together when panicking now
With a spliff in our mouth that we bought with the change we had picked from the couch
Another month of rent due, landlord pissed threatening on kicking us out
But we sharing the sickness, don’t tell me this an addiction
I’m way too man to admit this, my pride and mind is afflicted
As the light flickers, sit back drink spiked liquors
Mix that with wine swishers pill crushed sniffed up get high quicker
Never dine out, no, nowhere that we’d rather go
Both agoraphobic and we at atonement and in fact it attracts us both, so
Leave us alone, just leave us alone, overdose on you, I just wanna overdose on love
Withhold our aggression, share antidepressants
Make out till the pill dissolves and our problems solved for a second
Our love and affection, kept close by drugs and depression
Only people we trust is ourselves we a team but we overprotected
What we feel is love, no, what we feel is numb
We don’t feel at all, oblivious to what we’ve become
While our pupils dilate, calling pizza shops we dial late
5 in the morning and wide awake, minutes later we snoring our mind erased
Made a pact if we can’t adapt without raising glass gotta change the path
Saying that we’ll start next week never happens then take it back
Residue from this glass pipe, empty bottles on night stands
Chain smoking on Newports, I don’t think this the right plan
But I plead, please, we’re living on our knees but we don’t see this disease we inhale till we feel free
While the ash will burn our jeans seems we’re past the point to leave so I’ll hold you close and sleep
