The First Time I Ever Tried
[Intro: Vittorio]
I want to tell you a true story. I was nine years old, the first time I first saw the blues legend, Buddy Guy, play in my home town. At the end of his show, Buddy handed out guitar picks to the audience. He asked me, "you want a guitar pick, little boy?" I said, "I don't want no pick. I want to play!" So Buddy brought me up onto the stage, handed me his guitar, and I played the blues, for the very first time, with Buddy Guy!
Yeah, it felt good. Real good. And when I was done, Buddy said, "boy, you can play the blues!" So I wrote a song about it, and it goes like this:
[Guitar Solo: Vittorio]
[Verse 1]
My daddy, cowled, me buddy. Sometimes big guy
Said, my daddy calls me "buddy," sometimes "big guy"
So I found it 'round the string, yeah my body rather funny
Said I find it rather strange, and I find it rather funny
That the birds that I ever tried, I played the blues with Buddy Guy!
[Verse 2]
My daddy, cowled, me buddy. Sometimes big guy
Said, my daddy calls me "buddy," sometimes "big guy"
So I found it 'round the string, yeah my body rather funny
Said I find it rather strange, and I find it rather funny
That the birds that I'll ever try, I played the blues with Buddy Guy!
Yes I did! Buddy Guy! Yeah!
[Guitar Solo: Vittorio]
