Fareb-e-nazar hai, sakoon-o-sabbat
Tadapta hai har zarra-e-qayanat
[Being stable is a mere illusion of eyes,
for every atom in the universe constantly tremble's]

Theherta nahi carvaan-e-wujood
ke har lehza hai taaza shaan-e-wujood
[The caravan of life never halts,
for each moment life renews itself]

Samajhta hai tu raaz hai zindagi
Faqt zauq-e-parwaaz hai zindagi
[You believe that life is a mystery,
when it is a mere desire to soar high]

Jawano ko meri aah-e-seher de
Phir in shaaheen bachho ko baal-o-par de
[Give to the youth my sigh of dawn,
Give wings to these young falcon like kids]

Khudaya aarzoo meri yahi hai
Mera noor-e-basirat aam kar de
[God, this is my only wish,
That you share the divine light in me with all]

Sitaaron se aage jahaan aur bhi hain
Abhi ishq ke imtihan aur bhi hain
[There is a world beyond stars as well,
There are yet many tests of love and devotion]
Har ek maqaam se aage, maqaam hai tera
Hayat-e-zauq safar ke siva kuch aur nahi
[The place of your ambition is beyond everything,
What better can this life be than an endless strife]

Sitaaron se aage jahaan aur bhi hain
Abhi ishq ke imtihan aur bhi hain
[There is a world beyond stars as well,
There are yet many tests of love and devotion]

Tahi zindagi se nahin yeh fizaayein
Yahan sainkado carvaan aur bhi hain
[The world around you is not devoid of life,
There are hundreds of other caravans too]

Qanaa'at na kar aalam-e-rang-o-bu par
Chaman aur bhi, aashiyaan aur bhi hain
[Do not be content with this world of color and scent,
There are other gardens and other nests too]

Tu hi nadaan chand kaliyon par qanaat kar gaya
Warna gulshan mein ilaaj-e-tangi-e-damaa bhi hai
[You are naive to be contended with a few flower buds,
When this garden has even the cure for your limited desires]

Agar kho gaya ek nasheman toh kya gham
Muqaamaat-e-aah-o-fughaan aur bhi hain
[So what if you lost one nest, don't worry,
There are many more places to rue and lament]
Nishaan yahi hai zamaane mein zinda kaumo ka
Ke subho shaam badalti hai unki taqdeerein
[It is the sign of a nation that is alive,
When its fate keeps changing day and night]

Na pucho mujhse lazzat khanaman barbaad rehne ki
Nasheman sainkado maine banakar phoonk daale hai
[Do not ask me about the pleasure of living in destitution,
I have created and burnt down hundreds of nests]

Tu Shaaheen Hai, Parvaaz Hai Kaam Tera
[You are a falcon, to fly and soar high is your job]

Nahi tera nasheman, qasr-e-sultani ke gumbad par
Tu shaaheen hai baseraa kar pahadon ki chattano mein
[The place for your nest is not on top of the royal dome,
You are a falcon, go live in the rocks on the mountains]

Guzar auqat kar leta hai ye koh-o-biyaban mein
Ki shaaheen ke liye zillat hai kaar-e-aashiyan-kaari
[He dwells and lives out his days in rocks and desserts,
For it is disgrace for a falcon to live in a nest forever]

Garcha hai dilkusha bohot, husn-e-farang ki bahar
Taerk-e-buland-o-baal daana-o-daam se guzar
[It is very enchanting, with its beauty in the west,
You are a bird of paradise, resist the earthly trap]
Ae taair-e-lahauti us rizq se maut achhi
Jis rizq se aati ho parvaz mein kotahi
[O bird, who flies to the throne of God, death is better than the daily bread, that keeps you from soaring high]

Tu Shaaheen Hai, Parvaaz Hai Kaam Tera
Tere Saamne Aasmaan Aur Bhi Hain
[You are a falcon, to fly and soar high is your job,
For before you lies the endless sky]

Jhapatna, palatna, palatkar jhapatna
Lahu gram rakhne ka hai ek bahaana
[To swoop, return and to swoop and return again,
Is only but an excuse to keep your blood warm]

Parindo ki duniya ka darwaish hu mein
Ki shaaheen banata nahi aashiyaana
[I am the dervish of the kingdom of birds,
For a falcon does not build nests]

Isi roz-o-shab mein ulajh kar na rah jaa
Kih tere zamaan-o-makaan aur bhi hain
[Don't get ensnared by mere cycle of day and night,
For there are even more times and places that belong to you]

Gaye din ke tanhaa thaa main anjuman mein
Yahaan ab mere raaz-daan aur bhi hain!
[Gone are the days when I was lonely in this society,
I have many other to share my secrets with now]
