He was simply waiting for a ride home when he was struck and killed as he was crossing the street right here. Tonight a memorial marks the spot. He was like an older brother to me, it was kind of sad that I lost him. He was only 15. The 15 year old Phoenix was killed by hit and run driver Sunday night. He was standing at the corner of Venice Boulevard and Hughes Avenue in Palms, waiting for a ride home, when a 2001 Maroon Buick Lesabre, like this one, struck him. Los Angeles Police say that the car was reported stolen last week, and the driver sped up when he realized that he was being followed by the police. After hitting Phoenix, the driver kept going
