Summer Salt
Christmas with You
I used to work for a jewelry store
And deliver cross town to every shopping mall
Listen to the singers outside of the door
On the corner
Where luminara candles in white paper bags
Lit the street and all the people in and out of the cabs
I’d never wanna go home for all that I had
Those were the good times
Now every fall it starts to take me back
To the love that I lost or love that I’d forget
When thеy’d ask me do I believе
Now I believe I’ll be headed home
This Christmas Eve
Frost on the window
Howling steam from the kettle
Listening to Nat King Cole
With a seasonal beer and some pretzels
Old decorations when red ranger came calling
On comic book wrapping paper
And cloves and mandarin pomander
Still remind me
Of untangling tinsel or having me
Hang popcorn and cranberries around the tree
Got me feeling sappy and blue
Now I’ll be headed home to spend Christmas with you
And just like hooves on the roof
I’ll be breaking off and on through the traffic
To spend Christmas with you
Til I’m dashing over reunion lights
To spend Christmas with you
