Creation Essay
The Genesis and Greek creation stories are both similar and different in how they use literary archetype. There are many differences in the Greek and Genesis story. Like the villain in both stories and the garden which only the Genesis story has. In this story I am going to be comparing and contrasting both stories. Which will be who is the villain in stories and also the epic battle and the garden/ paradise?
Both the Greek and Genesis creation stories utilize the villain archetype. ”Cronus swallowed each of his children as they were born”. His lust for power is so great that he selfishly sacrifices his own children to keep the throne. This is telling us that Cronus is filling in the part of the villain archetype. The villain for the Genesis story Cain is the villain because he kills his brother just because Jesus accepted Abel's offering, but not Cain’s. Cain made his brother Abel go to the fields and Abel started to look for Cain, but couldn't then Cain did what he did.
The Greek and Genesis creation stories also contrast, with the former having a garden and epic battle latter archetype. When God made the ocean for me that is a garden like paradise because it is a peaceful place. Also in Heaven because I mean who wouldn't want to be in heaven I rather be in Heaven because you would not have any problems up there, but here on earth it is like your whole life is full with problems. Compare the epic battle that happened in the Greek story his wife and children were going to fight the father because he was the evil person. This world is full with evil you think you know that person really well, but in real life you don’t know them for nothing. That is how the world is.
