Mr. Varnell
Creation and Archetype Essay
Both the Greek and Genesis stories are both similar and different in how they use literacy archetypes. One of the comparisons of both stories they use the villain archetype. In the Greek story “To avoid this Cronus swallowed each of his children as they were born” (Greek Myth). This shows that Cronus wanted all the power.
“The serpent tricked the woman to eat the apple” (Genesis). This proves that the serpent was filling the role of a villain archetype. The serpent was clever to trick them to eat the apple. Both stories show the use of the villain archetype.
The Greek and Genesis creation stories also contrast, with the former having an epic battle of father/son and the latter a garden archetype. “Zeus to slip Cronus the specially prepared drink” (Greek Myth). It shows that Zeus and Cronus was a father/son archetype. Zeus plan worked as Cronus vomited the other five children.
“God planted a garden in Eden” (Genesis). It proves that god was the role of a garden archetype. God made plants and fruits to eat. These are examples of the similarities and difference of both stories.
