Top 10 Female Rappers 2015
10. WWA I personally don’t consider this breaking the rules but for the number 10 spot I couldn’t pick just one so I decided to just put the best women's supergroup in Hip Hop, WWA (Women With Attitude). This group is comprised of, Katie Got Bandz, Sasha Go Hard, Chella H and Lucci Vee and is packed with talent that goes in on every song. Not only do these ladies lead the Chicago Drill scene but they also soon could take over Hip Hop. Definitely keep an eye on them

9. Tinashe Tinashe is an artist who is fortunate enough to have been able to get a fanbase and a record deal just after her first 2 mixtapes. For some this could all just be luck others pure skill, for Tinashe it’s all talent. I was first turned on to Tinashe and her music when I heard her album “Aquarius” which was full of diversity and complexity that really showed how talented Tinashe is as an artist

8. Kay Cola Kay Cola is an artist that has kept it pretty lowkey but has been making a huge impact on the music game in her own unique way. Her genre bending style and technique accompanied with her soulful voice and melodic beats help propel her to the number 8 spot on this list

7. Dej Loaf After her hit song “Try Me” numerous people made the assumption that Dej would eventually fade into irrelevance and would be known for having a one hit wonder. She easily proved them wrong with her EP, “#AndSeeThatsTheThing”. Known for her sexy and melodic voice accompanied with catchy hooks and beats Dej has definitely made her mark as a dominant force among females in the game

6. K. Flay Probably the least well known artist on this list, K. Flay is one of the most diverse and lyrical rappers in the underground Hip Hop circuit. When I first heard her on Zion I’s song “Coastin” I knew she was going to be an artist to watch in the future. Although she may not have a ton of projects or be super well known she proves that quality is better than quantity

5. Dreezy One of the most well known current female rappers Dreezy has been making huge waves in the scene. From forming a close relationship with Common to getting interviewed by Sway, Dreezy has been making a name for herself one step at a time. With a sexy unique flow and super dope lyricism and wittiness she is truly a force to be reckoned with

4. Nicki Minaj A name I have been frequently heard associated with Nicki is “The Queen Of Hip Hop” and I wouldn’t say this is too false of a statement. Nicki has arguably been the most commercially popular female rapper for a good 4 years now and has been making hits after hits while still keeping respect in the Hip Hop community by being a skilled lyricist and having her own unique style. Not having Nicki on this list would be blasphemy

3. Tink One of the most recent signees to Timbaland’s MMG label, Tink has been making hit after hit not only making waves in the Chicago scene but nationwide as well. Most of the other female rappers out the Chi on this list are associated with Drill music while Tink has her own style and does her own thing. Along with a feature on XXL Freshman List Tink has had plenty of cosigns that can only send her up

2. Noname Gypsy In my opinion a younger, Chicago version of Rapsody, Noname Gypsy has been huge moves in the game whether it’s through unforgettable verses on Chance The Rapper songs or making dope collabs with Saba, Noname has been paving a way for herself to take over the game with traditional skilled lyricism and style

1. Rapsody To top off our list we have who many would consider the most underrated female artist in the game, Rapsody. Known for her exceptional lyricism and close relationship with legendary producer 9th Wonder. Rapsody has been known to not only make good appealing music but also to showcase her talent and skill level as well. It only seems right to put her at the head of her class in the music industry
