Chicago gangs aren't unorganized, in the city their are 2 main nations,renegades and unaffiliated gangs, here's the differences,

Folk Nation:
Folk Nation was the first alliance of gangs in Chicago to be formed and it was formed in the Joliet Correctional Facility by Larry Hoover. It united Black,Latino and White gangs together under one umbrella.

People Nation:
Soon after the Folks formation. People Nation was founded also in Joliet Correctional Facility to combat Folk Nation, it was made by Jeff Fort of the El Rukns (BPS) Bobby Gore of the Vice Lords and Gustavo Colon of the Latin Kings.

Renegades:
Alot of people confuse Renegade sets for unaffiliated gangs. Renegade sets used to be members of the gang but split off and follow their own rules, for example, Renegade Vice Lords still go under the Vice Lord name however, they don't follow the rules of the gang only the rules of their set and they won't hesitate to beef with anyone that's not their own.

Unaffiliated Gangs:
Unaffiliated Gangs are gangs that are fully structured and functioning but don't align themselves with any nation. This doesn't mean they aren't allies or rivals with gangs within the 2 nations but they mainly only look out for themselves.
