It was great getting Lupe cuz I knew I was going to get something with depth, something with a bit of heart to it, and it wasn't necessarily about - you know, booty and bling and being in the club is all good. But not for a song called "Battle Scars", you know, it had to be a little deeper. He loved the track, we got along really well, he's just chill, you know? He's a nice bloke. You know, he put down one version and I was like "Bruh, that is ridic-" - That was just so friggin' perfect for the song, everything that I imagined and his flow is like, even to the like - Yeah, just to the actual flow to his rap that was exactly how I pictured it. And then he's like "Yeah man, I got like another one, I got a whole nother vibe if you ain't feeling that one." And he goes like, so prepared I was like...he was really feeling the song and wanted to make something special.
