Losing A Puppy
Despair seeps up a flooded home
My once full heart a gutted dome
At dusk my eye dissects the grains
Old men walk by on canes who
As boys ignored pains of sprains
He suckled my teet, I buckled his feet
They say I'll be happy if I move to the farm
Losing a puppy is like losing an arm

Dig for my own bloodied bone
But find only mudded stone
In anothy world, my clone
Studies how her puppy'd grown
She can hear him screaming
When he breaks his leg skiing
"Hurts me as much as you," I tell him
Losing a puppy is like losing a limb
