Time
The Silent Question
[Verse 1: Time]
My eyes are anchors my alarm's hitting a C note
I wrote this in minors for the working class heroes
4 hours lunch break, 4 hours go home
Never enough money, here's some debt and a loan
High school was prison, a drug infested daycare
We can't afford college so we pick a career
Then we get married and wait for the divorce
This is a predictable society and poverty's the source
Modern war is custody battles and gavels
We work until we're crippled then we're free to travel
We have kids and scare them with santa claus and god
Then they rebel with drugs and alcohol and just get lost
Paychecks come just as quick as they go
When you got to pay rent wheres the money for your goals?
I ask if this all as I go to work
The only to look forward to is under the dirt

[Hook: Time]
Is this all we ask ourselves, is this all is this all?
Swimming in our tears we're waiting to dissolve, to dissolve
Is this all we ask ourselves, is this all is this all?
Swimming in our tears we're waiting to dissolve, to dissolve

[Verse 2: Time]
My eyes are closed my alarm's hitting a C chord
The cycle repeats like I'm beating a dead seahorse
It takes a shower and a coffee just to wake up
This smile needs photoshop and a lot of make up
Rusty trophy wives backstroking in tears
For the working man who comes home and has another beer
Addictions can hurt but sometimes they help
But we all feel worse when we wake up with that guilt
The problem with no name is the silent question
You can only see the shackles when you look at your reflection
Imprisoned by routine with no luxury
Bury me alive with debt collectors stuck to me
I'm running on a treadmill with negative thoughts
And when I stare at the clock it just seems to stop
Children climb stepfathers and mothers all alone
Only to work a job they hate then rot in a nursing home

[Hook: Time]
Is this all we ask ourselves, is this all is this all?
Swimming in our tears we're waiting to dissolve, to dissolve
Is this all we ask ourselves, is this all is this all?
Swimming in our tears we're waiting to dissolve, to dissolve
