Louis Cole
Ghost Story
If I wait any longer I'll blow a vein
I was tossed from a plane or train
The restaurant thought I wanted a burger with fries
I was interested in a McShake with lime

In this wide arena corn wears a disguise
In this order we will eat some home-grown pies
I looked down to admire the work I had done
But to my horror there was none

The gift was given, of this I swear
I know in my heart there was nothing there
Even as the road unraveled, I saw no tire tracks
I got up and left the river and turned my back
