Eyes Are Dry
[Chorus]
Oh what can be done
For an old heart like mine?
Soften it up with oil and wine
The oil is You
Your Spirit of love
Please wash me anew
In the wine of Your blood
Come on, sing it with me
Oh what can be done
For an old heart like mine?
Soften it up with oil and wine
The oil is You
Your Spirit of love
Please wash me anew
In the wine of Your blood
Oh, the wine of Your blood

[Verse]
Sing, my eyes are dry, to the Lord:
My eyes are dry, my faith is old
My heart is hard and my prayers are cold
And I know how I ought to be
Alive to You and dead to me

[Chorus]
Oh Lord, what can be done
For an old heart like mine?
Soften it up with oil and wine
The oil is You
Your Spirit of love
Come wash me anew
In the wine of Your blood
Oh, if you're filling hard of heart
Oh, let Him wash you tonight
Wash me, God
Wash me
Oh what can be done
For an old heart like mine?
Soften it up with oil and wine
The oil is You
Your Spirit of love
Wash me anew
In the wine of Your blood
[Verse]
We come honestly
We say our eyes are dry tonight to You
And my eyes are dry, my faith is old
My heart has grown hard and my prayers are cold
And I know how I ought to be
Alive to You and dead to me

[Spoken]
You know, listen. There's the pretty polished prayers of the Pharisee. And then there's the prayer of the mother of Samuel. Her name was Hannah. Let me tell you what her prayer sounded like: drunken babble. You know, I'll tell you this: the man of God comes up to Hannah, Samuel's mother, before she had a son and she's crying out. He says, "Woman, you're drunk. Why are you drunk in the house of the Lord?" Because he said her lips moved but no sound was heard. And listen: she said, "I'm not drunk with wine, I'm drunk with intercession to have a prophet." And I'm gonna tell ya, there's no other way God births prophetic movements in the earth unless He does it through broken men and women. What did Jesus say? The Pharisee stands with his pretty, polished prayers. And he says, "Oh Lord, I praise You. For Lord, I am a great prophet. Lord, I–You see, Lord, I'm an apostle, Lord. You see I'm this, I'm a great worship leader. Oh, I fast twice a week and I tithe and I'm wonderful, Lord. Don't You love me? Don't You love my robe, Lord? Look how amazing I am." And then He says there's a man beside him that beat his breast and wouldn't even look up to heaven and he's the one that went away justified. I'm telling you God's hearing [?] prayers, brokenness out of the heart of His people. I want my heart to be soft, guys. Come on, let's just sing to the Lord. Let's just say, "Lord, what can be done after all the hurt, all the years, all the stuff, God. You can soften us up with the wine of Your love."

[Chorus]
What can be done
For an old heart like mine?
Soften it up with oil and wine
The oil is You
Your Spirit of love
Come wash me anew
In the wine of Your blood
Come wash us, God
Come wash us in Your blood
In Your blood, in Your blood
Tell me, what can be done
For an old heart like mine?
Soften it up with oil and wine
The oil is You
Your Spirit of love
Wash me anew
In the wine of Your blood
In the wine of Your blood
[Bridge]
Say "soften my heart" before the Lord
Soften my heart
Soften my heart
Soften my heart
Soften my heart
Soften my heart
Soften my heart
Soften my heart
Soften my heart

[Chorus]
What can be done
For an old heart like mine?
Soften it up with oil and wine
The oil is You
Your Spirit of love
Come wash me anew
In the wine of Your blood
