Oceans of Slumber
Memoriam
I’ve been choking for way too long on the poison that you take
And though it seems like a rapid decline you believe it’s the only way
I can’t let you slip today
I understand how it feels inside to be here yet so far away
Yet I cannot let you go
Misery born in me
My heart has turned to stone
And now I see just a little too late
Were you dreading the end, dreading my friend?
And maybe now that you’re so far gone
It’s enough to effect a change in you
To bring the truth, plead and bleed it for all that you’ve got
When it’s all that you want and it’s all that you’re not
I’m on my knees with my hands to the sky
As you bleed your whole life away
Can’t you see I’m a man in this life and born in misery, lost in pain?
Why don’t we just bury ourselves
Because this life is k!lling me
Enslaved?
I’m not enslaved
The consequence of life, in the end, is death
The beauty in between is eternal
I’m on my knees with my hands to the sky
As you bleed your whole life away
Can’t you see I’m and man in this life born in misery lost in pain?
I cannot let you go
My heart has turned to stone
